Cold night but again
once the sun was up it warmed up quickly and we enjoyed breakfast al
fresco. We needed to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables as well
as meats for meals so dug out the shopping trolley and walked into
town.
We were told yesterday
that there was a market on although we thought market day was
Wednesday, which is why we left our shopping until today. When we
arrived, however, we found that a market was underway, as big as
although in a different location than previous years, and the town
was heaving, never seen it so busy. We had a good walk round first,
looking to perhaps buy a new dog lead after accidentally melting the
one we had, but not surprisingly, unsuccessfully. Then into the meat
market where a whole chicken breast and a big slice of beef straight
off the haunch went into the trolley. Rather than go back to the
market we elected to use one of the ordinary vegetable stalls for our
requirements then a couple of “hubcaps”, our name for the round
flat bread, still warm from the oven.
Our shopping finished,
we slowly headed back to the van and a boisterous Jamie, who must
have thought we weren't coming back with the welcome he gave us!
Awning and sunscreen up, a nice cold drink and that's us finished for
the day. Once again it got very hot in the sunshine, too much to sit
out in it for long although the sunscreen helped.
Late afternoon saw us
taking chairs round to the other vans for another impromptu “beer
o'clock” which lasted well into the dark and culminated in a
bonfire they had been building for a few days. A pleasant end to a
lovely day, especially as we're moving on tomorrow.
